It's with profound sadness that I express my heartfelt sorrow for the tragic loss of innocent life that took place this past Tuesday in Uvalde. There can never be any  justification for the kind of human depravity that results in the taking of the lives of 19 children and their teachers. In the face of such evil, we as Christians must resolve to work for peace in our own lives, peace in our communities and peace in our world. May Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace, gently wipe away every tear from the eyes of the wounded and those who mourn the loss of a loved one. And may God embrace the souls of these children and their teachers in his loving and merciful arms. Together let us pray that evil will never triumph over good.
