As part of the two year preparation for receiving the sacrament of Confirmation, our students participate in various activities as well as the established Confirmation curriculum.
Recently, the Confirmation Year 1 students attended a retreat held at Our Lady of Angels Convent. All students had the opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation, reviewed the Sacrament of Baptism and discussed the 7 Gifts of the Holy Spirit (reflecting on who in their lives reminds them of each gift). They also discussed the parable of the sower, taking time to think about who/what are the rocks, dry soil/rocks or thorns that keep them from living their faith the way God wants/needs them to. The importance of taking quiet time to be with God and to read scripture was emphasized and they were issued a challenge to read the four Gospels before Easter.
The Confirmation Year 2 students spent some time preparing food for guests staying at the Ronald McDonald House. Students worked together to make fajitas, cookies and brownies for guests.
Thank you to ministry leaders, David and Kayleigh Ariaz and Susan Miller for their committment to the spiritual formation of our SJTB youth.
